PENICUIK LEAGUE FINALS DAY

Sunday 29th March seen Finals Day for The Penicuik League held in The Crescent Snooker Club.

A day filled with lots of banter and some good pool too.

Under 21 championship turned out to be a bit of a farce with 1 entrant so this years champ undisputed lol was Jamie Craig of the Crescent Snooker Club.

A new tournament was introduced this year to the P.P.L the pairs championship. This was played under a scotch pairs format and had 16 entrants. After lots of the good bad and the ugly finally the final was contested by Birthday boy Brian Bell & Phil Wilson of The Cuiken Inn versus Gemma Clyde and Vandana Helge (apologies if wrong) of New Yorker 2. Victorious on the day were the Cuiken lads.

The singles was narrowed down to 8 for finals day and early rounds saw Martin Rogan defeat Gareth Lithgow. Davey Kinnear defeat Glen Faichney. Joe Turnbull defeat Jamie Craig and Tam Peters Defeated Craig Nicoll. Semi Finals Saw Davey beat Martin and Tam Beat Joe. After a long wait Tam and Davey got the final under way. Tam missed the first chance from the break in the first missing his last ball and Davey took away an 8 baller to get infront. After an in off early in second frame Davey again made short work of the table. Davey then finished in style with another table clearance after a dry break to seal a very comfortable 3 - 0 victory.

This years player of the year in the P.P.L was Scott Kinnear of the Navaar Hotel.

Final congratulations and the main tournament award goes to this years League Champions Navaar Hotel.

Congratulations to all concerned.
